ChatGPT setup

Use your private AIMemLink for full personal context, or your public profile when you only want to share public basics.

1. Create your memory

Sign up at AIMemLink and write the context you want ChatGPT to understand. Your private link includes both your public and private zones and looks like:

aimemlink.com/yourusername/a3f8c2d19e4b7065f1a8d3c2b9e7f604.txt

If you only want to share intentionally public basics, use aimemlink.com/yourusername/public-memory.txt instead.

2. Quick try from the dashboard

On your dashboard, open the Private link or Public link panel and tap ChatGPT under Talk to your AI. Your instruction snippet copies automatically, ChatGPT opens in a new chat, and you paste to start.

3. Copy the instruction snippet

For lasting setup, copy the AI instructions block (or use Custom instructions below). It tells ChatGPT to fetch your URL before helping you.

4. Paste into custom instructions

In ChatGPT, open Settings → Personalization → Custom instructions (or equivalent) and paste the snippet. Start a new chat after saving.

5. If fetch still fails

Ask ChatGPT to fetch your AIMemLink URL directly instead of web-searching. You can also copy full or public memory from the dashboard and paste it into the chat.

If you use an MCP-compatible agent or desktop app, connect through AIMemLink's MCP server for direct read and append tools.

Ready to create your AI memory?

Write your context, use your private link for personal memory, and publish optional public basics when you want them discoverable by username.
